Couple Charged Following Numerous Las Vegas Thefts, Singer Jason Derulo Among Victims

Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from two resort casinos and other Las Vegas locations by a husband-and-wife team earlier this year, according to a recent news report.

The wife, Viviana Hernandez, was charged this month for the scheme. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers initially apprehended her in February, along with her husband, Leonardo Munoz. Munoz still has several pending warrants, police said.

Both are from California and were staying at an unnamed Las Vegas Strip hotel when the thefts took place, according to Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

The couple was tracked down after a bag they allegedly stole, equipped with an Apple AirTag, provided their location.

The device led police officers to the hotel room where the couple was staying. Officers found stolen items in the room. More stolen items were found after a later Las Vegas traffic stop, KLAS reported.

Additional suspects are likely to have taken part in the thefts, according to KLAS. So far, they haven’t been arrested.

The thefts occurred in the days before the which was held in Las Vegas on February 11.

The total value of the missing items from AREA15 was more than $300K, police said.
