The Silver and Black will call Las Vegas its home next season. But in the interim, the team delivered a substantial win for Sin City sportsbooks. Oddsmakers across Southern Nevada reported that the vast majority of the money on the Oakland versus Chicago game in London was on the Bears.

You usually don t like that scenario, where the public and the wiseguys are on the same side, Westgate SuperBook VP of Rise Ed Salmons told ESPN. But it worked out for us. The Raider game basically made the morning.

The game was played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – a $1.25 billion complex that opened in April and is home to the storied Premier League club – which is hosting two NFL games this year. The first was a victory for sportsbooks back home. The Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play there next Sunday.

Raiders Fend Off Charge

Oakland coach Jon Gruden s team opened up a 17-point lead in the second quarter, led by a dominant offensive line that allowed rookie running back Josh Jacobs to finish with 123 yards on 26 carries.

Jacobs was complemented by quarterback Derek Carr, who threw for 229 years on 25/32 passing.

With the money on the Bears, oddsmakers lengthened the point spread on the game from spotting Oakland 5.5 to six, and then to 6.5. We were totally buried on that game, MGM sportsbook director Jeff Stoneback said.

MGM Resorts revealed the Raiders upset of the Bears was their best single-game win of the 2019-20 NFL season. It came after Oakland was able to fend off a 21-point third quarter from the Bears with a touchdown in the fourth.

The PointsBet book in New Jersey took a $285,000 two-team moneyline parlay on the Kansas City Chiefs and Bears. Both lost. DraftKings said it printed a $210,000 moneyline wager on the Bears, money that was also kept by the house.

Pats Heavily Favored

The New England Patriots are now a perfect 5-0 after easily taking care of the Washington Redskins in DC, 33-7. The Pats covered the 15 points most sportsbooks had Tom Brady and company spotting the long underdogs.

The winless Redskins fired Jay Gruden – brother to the Raiders Jon – following the .

As for the odds of the Patriots running the table and going a perfect 16-0, the SuperBook has the line at 8/1. The sportsbook says it has already accepted a $5,000 bet on the odds that would net $40,000.

The sportsbook also took a $24,000 wager at -1200 odds that the Patriots won t go undefeated in the regular season. The large bet would net just $2,000 if New England loses a game.

The Patriots have two seemingly easy games (NY Giants, NY Jets) before some more serious competition. New England welcomes the high-powered on October 27, and then plays at the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles before returning to Foxborough for the Dallas Cowboys.

They remain, however, the heavy favorites for the Super Bowl at 2/1.
